Choosing a Plasmid
This step is necessary if your protein target does not come with a designated plasmid. Instead of steps, these are requirements for what should be located on your plasmid.
- Protein target sequence inserted
- N- or C-terminal histidine tag of varying length
- Antibiotic selection sequence- ampicillinm, kanamycin, or chloramphenicol.
- Optional- his tag cleavage site. Either TEV or thrombin.
- Optimized for expression in E. coli.
