Chemical Disinfection of Glassware
Glassware and any other non-disposable item that comes into contact with biohazardous material (anything living) must be chemically disinfected. Disposables can be placed directly into the biohazardous waste container.
- Add a 10% bleach or 70% ethanol (isopropanol is also acceptable) solution to the glassware or surface.
- Let soak for 20 minutes.
- Pour disinfectant down the drain and rinse well with water.
- Clean with soap and water.
