Urine Preparation for 1D NMR

From Powers Wiki

1. Urine samples are aliquoted and centrifuged at 14,000 × rpm for 10 min to pellet debris

2. Supernatant samples are collected and snap frozen in Liquid Nitrogen and freeze dried to remove methanol by speed vacuum centrifugation (SpeedVac R Plus, Savant) and water by lyophilization using FreeZone™ (Labconco, Kansas City, MO) for 24 hours and stored at -20°C until NMR and MS analysis.

Note: Methanol extration used in serum preperation can be used to minimize protein content and urea peak in NMR analysis.
